[ EAT ME, 2010 ]

Eat me is an experimental sound piece that facilitates a proof of concept for larger thesis project. Termites are given the artist’s birth certificate and as they eat the paper they in theory produce approximately two liters of usable hydrogen gas. In turn the termites are decomposers producing a viable energy source but destroy the artist’s existence in the process. The viewer is invited to hear the sound of the termites eating the birth certificate in real time and to become part of the cyclical nature of birth and decay.
